Obama’s Virtual Commencement Speech for Class of 2020: This is Your Generation World to Shape
Summary: What was the listening selection about?
Graduation is the beginning of adulthood and the time when you begin to take your right of your own life. But now the values of common graduation that full of parties like promnight or graduation ceremonies with full of happiness are erased since the global disease, pandemic Covid-19.
This pandemic results uncertainty to everyone including the young generation. But 2020 is the time for the young generation. This is the young generation world to shape. This pandemic encourages the young generation to grow faster than the other generations. They need to face a lot of things and should be brave to use their power, the power of young generation, to make their world better.
Obama gives three quick pieces of advice to young generation what they could do to face their new world after their graduation:
Don’t be affraid
Each time we would be more stronger, since we always learn something new from our mistakes and figure out what should do to make things better.
Do what you think is right
Everyone nor you ever make mistakes but when you listen to yourself and it seems something right, just do that and be the one of the people who gives others the solution. When you do something right people would do the same thing and we could change the things to get better.
Build your community
“No one does big things by themselves”
Everything that you does should be viewed from the many perspectives. Make your own community and with them you could stand to alive to another struggles and stand up for one another’s right.
